Hello!
When I first started playing StarCraft back in 1998 at the ripe old age of 13(sheesh, I'm getting olde), it might seem laughable now but Battle.Net was a bit of an intimidating place. There were tons and tons of games that were constantly being created and it was sometimes rather tricky to get a good game of StarCraft going. However, what made that process a whole lot easier was having a small group of friends to create games with and just to enjoy spending company with. Blizzard Gaming Night was then created. The whole concept was simple. Pick a date, pick a time and start playing a variety of games of StarCraft until ~2:00-3:00 AM. It really is and was great. You had players of a variety of skill levels, players of a variety of interests and it just created a fun evening that you could come in whenever and be confident that you could get a game of StarCraft going. Our group right now is a pretty solid core of 6 players(at one point years ago we were probably in the 30s) and we are just hoping to expand that opportunity with others.
When? -> We always start around 8:00 PM EDT and will generally go until around Midnight EDT or later.
Saturday, July 9th
Friday, July 15th and Saturday, July 16th
Friday, July 22nd and Saturday, July 23rd
Friday, July 29th and Saturday, July 30th
Typically in the fall, we will play every couple of weeks.
Where? -> US East on Battle.Net; Channel: op BGN. If you do not see anyone in the channel, whisper SpaceDominator.
What? -> Playing Melee, UMS and more StarCraft BW.
Do I need to sign up? -> Nope, just show up whenever you can.
Do I have to be there right at 8:00 PM EDT? -> Nope, just show up whenever you can.
Why? -> It's a chance to playing StarCraft BW and potentially make some new friends through a game that we all enjoy. What more would you want?
What do you get out of this? -> Honestly, just a chance to play StarCraft with new people and just to have an excuse to play a variety of games of StarCraft.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks for your time!
