StarCraft Broadcasts:
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the next Joe Buck or the next Ernie Harwell. However, I have always wanted to give a try to play-by-play broadcasting and thus I have begun my experiment with that of these StarCraft Broadcasts. Currently, I have begun with that of doing broadcasts based on a semi-popular SC UMS, entitled SCV Football. Expect however for me to explore other different areas along the way. Below is the current listing of the Broadcasts that I have currently produced.
Major Tournaments:
Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament #1:
The first major tournament that I held at Blizzard Gaming Night was the inaugural Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament. The tournament had two major stages. In the first stage, each of the players was required to play a best of 3 series against each and every other member in the competition, with players sweeping their series earning 2 points and those winning in three earning one point. The top 12 players then advanced to a single elimination round which narrowed the field ultimately down to 2 players, those being Kilahace and Pacificace.Tibs. The BGN Invitational Tournament also consisted of the first melee broadcasts that we had done at Blizzard Gaming Night. So take a listen as we go back to the Summer of 2006, as Desastroso and myself guide you through the six games in our most competitive and most exciting final of the three BGN Invitationals.
-> Game 1: The opening game of the first BGN Invitational Championship Series Tournament. This broadcast consists of the opening pre-game show that introduces the two players. The first game was an interesting contest as well with Tibs finding a way to win to take the early 1-0 series lead. [Broadcast Tuesday September 5th, 2006]
-> Game 2: The second game of the BGN Invitational Championship Series. The second game of the Championship Series of the BGN Invitational demonstrated a shift in the type of map, and a shift in the winner as Kilahace came out on top of PacificTibs.Ace in 26:45 on Dire Straits. The key to the entire game came into the fact that Kilahace was able to disrupt two major drops from Tibs both at his own main base located at the upper right main base and also at the small island expansion in between the upper left and upper right main bases. [Broadcast Thursday, September 7th, 2006]
-> Game 3: The third game of the Championship Series of the BGN Invitational saw an interesting game on the map of Azalea, in which PacificTibs.Ace using the power of the swarm was able to overwhelm Kilah's Protoss force, and for the second game in which Kilah went for reavers, he watched them go up in smoke. This was the first of the four games played on the evening. [Broadcast Friday, September 8th, 2006]
-> Game 4: The fourth game of the Championship Series saw the BGN Invitational shift back to the Island world, on Island Hop and in a similar way to game 3, it was about an ultimate overwhelming force defeating the opposition. Kilahace had the dominance in the air, in terms of numbers, in terms of positioning, etc... He took his time and patiently waited for Tibs to make the error in this cat and mouse game which did eventually happened, allowing for the series to be evened up at 2 games a piece. [Broadcast Friday, September 8th, 2006]
-> Game 5: The fifth game of the Championship series is the one that people will be talking about for months at BGN, as a simple Zerg vs Zerg encounter became unsickly great. PacificTibs who had the advantage in the previous two land map games, looked as if he had the advantage again as he seemed to have the numerical advantage. Kilahace however, decided to in a sense "turtle" as he sat back waiting for Tibs to become overly aggressive, and with one plague, Tibs lost his unit advantage and with a second Tibs lost control of the game. Two plagues timed both at Kilahace's ramp to his own main base, turned the game 180 degrees, and Kilah was fixated with control as Tibs knew that the end was inevitable, as frustration lended itself to yet another game on the islands. [Broadcast Friday, September 8th, 2006]
-> Game 6: The sixth game of the Championship Series on Kakaru Keys could only be best defined as Kilah's victory lap around the BGN world. Tibs, choosing Terran for the first time in the entire series, basically took his shot on one drop and when it failed was in trouble. Kilah eventually with the destruction of Tibs last ditch attempt on the natural expansion located at 3 o'clock concluded the festitivites with Kilahace ahead 4-2. [Broadcast Friday, September 8th, 2006]
Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament #2:
The second BGN Invitational Tournament began with four groups of four interested players each playing a single best of 5 series against the other members of their groups with the top two advancing to the knockout stage. The idea mirrored that of the World Cup. The tournament then evolved into a final two of Koronis and Kilahace. Unfortunately the championship series here lasted a single game as Koronis decided to chicken out of the final series. This particular tournament we experimented with a unique style of broadcasting intended to mirror that of "home-team broadcasting." Below are the two different feeds of the one game of this championship seed. In the one broadcast, you will hear Sniper and Zorak talking from the Kilahace perspective and in the other you will hear myself go solo having the unenviable job of talking up Koronis.
Quarterfinal Game Broadcasts:
-> Game 1 QF Kilahace vs Ramvid: Broadcast by Desastroso and Zorak
-> Game 2 QF Kilahace vs Ramvid: Broadcast by Desastroso and Zorak.
Semifinal Game Broadcasts:
-> Game 1 SF Kilahace vs Desastroso
-> Game 2 SF Kilahace vs Desastroso: Broadcast by SpaceDominator and Zorak.
Championship Game Broadcasts:
-> Game 1 Kilahace Perspective: Broadcast by Sniper and Zorak.
-> Game 1 Koronis Perspective: Broadcast by Myself. Please note the exciting tone that I have in this broadcast as it was disgusting the behavior from Koronis, and that really makes it difficult to get behind a player of his stature.
Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament #3:
The third BGN Invitational Tournament began with a much more varied group of players and had a very promising preliminary round. Then the excuses began. After all of the fun, we concluded with a championship series of Kilahace and Ramvid. The pre-game shows and the post-game shows were all excellent. In particular take a listen to the post-game show with Kilahace and Desastroso analyzing the games. One can learn a ton about the game of SC by just listening to the way those two talked. The first two broadcasts are just comical in their own unique right. Below I have also included the montage that will be the real memory of the BGN Invitational Tournament #3 championship series.
Semifinal Series Broadcasts:
-> Game 1 Kilahace vs Ramvid broadcasted by SpaceDominator and Zorak. Intended as preparation for the championship series.
-> Game 1 Kilahace vs Ramvid Post Game
-> Game 2 Kilahace vs Ramvid
-> Game 3 Kilahace vs Ramvid
Championship Series Broadcasts:
-> Pre-Game Show Day 1: Broadcast by SpaceDominator and Zorak. Overall, one of the better pre-game shows that we have done. It felt much more polished than the first one's we did. Take a listen!
-> Pre-Game Show Day 2: Broadcast by SpaceDominator, Desastroso and Zorak. Again, it felt extremely polished. Worth the listen!
-> Pre-Game Show Day 2 Montage: This is the opening "Twilight Zone" montage that became quickly the funniest moment in the BGN Invitational Tournament #3. When you have a 13 year old asking myself if I am a Blizzard Employee in Game #1 and then I manage to drop in Game #2, you have yourself a day of memories. Simple as that. Included as well, summaries of the first two games, plus the now infamous: "Real Men of Genius: SC Broadcaster Guy." A definite listen to all!
-> Game 1: Played on the map of Monty Hall. This game was broadcast by SpaceDominator and Zorak, except for the fact that Zorak had to disappear half way through. However, take a listen at the perfect timing of some random kid coming in and asking me about my employment projection at Blizzard Entertainment. Overall though, it was a pretty entertaining game nevertheless.
-> Game 2: Played on the map of Luna. This game was originally broadcast by SpaceDominator and Zorak, except for the fact that SpaceDominator's ISP decided to crap out. Again, take a listen to the perfect timing in which I leave and then notice how admirably Zorak does in completing the broadcast. Overall, I thought it was one of the better broadcasted games from Zorak, especially considering the fact that he had to adlib for a while.
-> Game 3: Played on the map of Plains to Hill. This game was broadcast by Desastroso and Zorak which probably in the eyes of many makes it better. This game was an unfortunate break for Ramvid as Zerg and Plains to Hill don't exactly work. Although it does remind me that the broadcasters should know the maps before they begin. Enjoy!
-> Game 4: Played on the map of Sattarchasm. Not to mention I get kicked off B.Net before this game. This game brought back the olde duo of Desastroso and SpaceDominator to appropriately conclude Kilahace's third championship in three tries.
-> Post-Game Show Day 1: The post game show for Day 1 includes an interview with Kilahace and also Kilahace's Post-Game analysis of the two games. It's definitely worth a listen!
-> Post-Game Show Day 2: The post game show for Day 2 includes another interview with Kilahace, but also another phenomenally done (albeit, long) analysis of the final two games consisting of Desastroso and Kilahace. Try learning a thing or two from this one.
Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament #4:
The Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament 4 occured during the Winter Break of 2007. The shortest Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament consisted of 12 players leading itself to a bunch of sweeps in the semifinals and ultimately a 4-0 sweep from BlizzForums's StarCraft Strategy moderator SuperKiller.
-> Game 1 Finals
-> Game 2 Finals
-> Game 3 Finals
-> Game 4 Finals

Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament #5:
The Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament 5 began June 1st, 2008 and lasted until the first week of July. The Blizzard Gaming Night Invitational Tournament 5 began with 12 players vying for a championship. The BGN Invitational Tournament 5 brought in new players into the fold and also produced some of the more competitive series we have seen in the recent series... Well, except for our Epic series perhaps. We have a large array of broadcasts though from this event, so enjoy:
Preliminary Round Games:
-> Sinoya vs Loophole Game 1
-> Sinoya vs Loophole Game 2

The Epic 9th place series took place between Zorak and Windall. Each of the four games was truly epic in their own unique way.
-> Epic Series Pre-Game
-> Epic Series Game 1
-> Epic Series Game 2
-> Epic Series Game 3
-> Epic Series Game 4
Preliminary Final Series:
The best of 5 preliminary final qualifying series between Desastroso and Lousy.Cheesy.
-> Game 1
-> Game 2
-> Game 3
-> Game 4
-> Game 5
BGN Invitational 5 Finals:
-> Game 1
-> Game 2
-> Game 3
-> Game 4
-> Game 5
-> Game 6
-> Game 7
-> Post Game Show
Other Melee Matches:
-> The Search For Partnership Prowess Championship Game/Summary: The final game of the 2v2 Double Elimination tournament. Overall, a pretty boring game but it is a championship match and the only 2v2 broadcast that we have thus far. Broadcast by SpaceDominator. Davaztaya/DitkaorGod were your winners.
Show-Matches:
-> Lousy.Cheesy vs FatBoySr - One of the more underestimated broadcasts done solely by myself. Overall, a solid game that actually didn't involve Kilahace as he seems to be in everything else.
SCV Football Games:
SCV Football Tournaments:
-> Tourney Broadcast 1: The first SCV Football Tournament Broadcast. Participants included Desastroso, Marine, Ramvid, Zorak and Hydrowing. Personally I thoguht the broadcast was pretty well done for a first tourney attempt. There were several good contests during the tournament.
-> Tourney Broadcast 2: A double elimination tournament broadcast this time! Hydrowing, Sniper, Kilahace, Zorak, Ramvid and Marine took the virtual field.
-> Tourney Broadcast 3: Probably the weirdest opening of all of the broadcasts, including a poetic twist. A fun tourney though.
-> Tourney Broadcast 5: May 29th, 2007: Kilahace, Ramvid, Zorak and Sniper
-> Tourney Broadcast 6: May 29th, 2007 part 2: Kilahace, Ramvid, Zorak and Sniper
Grudge Matches:
-> Broadcast 1: SpaceDominator's first broadcast of SCV Football consisted of a single matchup between New Yorker FatBoySr and SD's self-proclaimed "everyone's favorite guy" Sniper. The match was played to 28 points.
-> Broadcast 3: An early morning contest between Kilahace and Ramvid.
-> Kilahace vs Zorak: A great BO3 series of SCV Football games between Kilahace and Zorak. Kilahace won 2 games to 1.
-> Kilahace vs Marine: Two of the greats of SCV Football go at it in a single game to 28.
